"Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things."

Birch preached this morning at a little rural church in Kingston. It's our second time there and he's preaching there next week as well. Being his wife and being responsible for the behaviour of his three children on the pew during his sermon is a little bit "bug under the microscope" for me. I've never particularly cared to be in the spotlight. I leave that to Juliana.

They do well, I will admit, though it is a lot for a four year old to be still and quiet for that long. Put your coat on, take your coat off, color, lay down, inspect the pew in front of you, fiddle with your shoes, take out your bow, and so on.

But what probably really did it this morning was that every single dern time the music started and all those congregants started to sing, Mouse would stick her elbows all the way out so she could plug her pointer fingers into her ears.

Wonder how many bonus points the preacher's family got for that?
